Camber Sands The Premiership of Beaches!
Have you ever wondered where Footballers and their WAGs holiday? I should think most of us would expect it to be in exotic locations abroad; the Bahamas, Maldives or Seychelles and the such. Would you believe it if I told you that one particular England and Manchester United player would prefer to holiday beside the sea in Camber Sands?
England skipper Rio Ferdinand told The Sunday Times just that in an interview last year, he said, and I quote (courtesy of the Sunday Times); ‘I’m not stuck up about holidays and have no time for Wag-like choices of places to stay. I’m looking forward to going to Camber Sands, in East Sussex, again when I finish playing football. I want my kids to go and see that sort of place, with the big sand dunes and a happy atmosphere. You can run on the dunes without a care in the world. It feels close to being on a foreign holiday, without having actually to leave Britain.’
So there you have it, an endorsement of a holiday in Camber Sands if ever I have heard one, I say if it’s good enough for a multi-millionaire footballer then it is good enough for me, and who can blame Rio for his choice, Camber Sands is stunning – and very true – Like being abroad but on the coast of East Sussex.
And it’s not just the stunning beach that offers that quality holiday atmosphere that Rio enjoys, there is fab place to eat there too, ‘The Gallivant’ and many attractions for day trips out with the family, which I am sure Rio would want to take advantage of when he takes his family to Camber Sands on holiday.
