Spring is in the air…..almost!

Happy New Year and welcome to our new look postcard from Beside The Sea!

With the days slowly drawing out, the snowdrops starting to flower and the newborn lambs soon appearing on the Romney marsh, it can only mean spring is on the way and there is no better place to blow away the cobwebs, de-stress and generally detox from the now past festive season, than visiting 1066 country and banishing the winter blues with the many coastal and country walks all on the doorstep of our cosy coastal cottages!

Ok, so it is technically still Wintertime, but February in Camber Sands and Rye offers crisp fresh air, beautiful winter sunlight and the Rye Bay Scallop Festival (for all you foodies)! check out What a load of scallops! for details We have a couple of February weekends still up for grabs, so don’t miss out on visiting this stunning destination and making February – which, let’s face it, offers little to look forward to – more bearable!

Having said the above, Valentines day is a lovely time to let the one you love know just that, how about a surprise (or arranged, we don’t mind!) romantic, weekend getaway for you and that special someone in your life! (and no we won’t tell if this is your four legged, wet nosed, fluffy friend – they are welcome in some of our holiday cottages too!)

Speaking of the furry ones, don’t forget National pet-friendly month will soon be upon us (02 April – 02 May) and fido won’t forgive you if you don’t treat him to a trip to the seaside to snuffle amongst the dunes and a paddle in the sea!

If you haven’t booked it yet (and why not) get those holiday forms in to your boss for the 26th, 27th an 28th of April! Taking these 3 days off (if you are a Monday to Friday, 9 – 5 worker) will mean you get 11 days off of work for the price of just 3. This is thanks to the Easter Bank Holiday and the Royal wedding announced as being held on Friday 29th April (with a bank holiday on the following Monday)! What a perfect time to book a holiday in Camber sands. This time of year is delightful down here, and this country often offers lovely weather around the end of April and beginning of May – Perfect!

Finally, not wanting to wish time away, but it is never too early to start planing (and booking) those all important Summer holidays!
